Born in Saigon and raised on Boston’s north shore, Quan Barry is Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she recently directed the MFA Program in Creative Writing. The author of three books published by the University of Pittsburgh Press (Asylum, Controvertibles, and Water Puppets), her work has appeared in such journals as the Georgia Review, the Kenyon Review, Ms., and the New Yorker, and among her awards are an NEA Fellowship, a Pushcart Prize, and a Wallace Stegner Fellowship at Stanford University. She is currently at work on a novel.
Michael Velliquette is a mixed media artist known for his dimensionally complex paper sculptures, installations, and drawings. Velliquette’s work is represented by DCKT Contemporary, New York and David Shelton Gallery, Houston. Velliquette was recently picked to be the Dane County artist representative for EUARCA+2012, an artist residency in Kassel, Germany. His museum exhibitions include Slash: Paper Under the Knife at the Museum of Art and Design New York and Psychedelic at the San Antonio Museum of Art. Velliquette is currently a Faculty Associate in the Art Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Lecturer at Madison College.
